Personal Power-Sail

The Personal Power-sail is a highly efficient portable wind power system, designed for camping, RVs, cabins and homes. Wind turbines are lifted up to harness stronger wind and the electricity produced is sent to the ground through a cable.

How It Works:
The Personal Power-sail system works with two specialized sled kites. The turbine-sail operates 60 feet above ground and is equipped with twin 50 watt wind turbines and an 80 foot conductive tether. The lifter-sail pulls upward with a 100 foot long line that is attached to the top of the turbine-sail.

The wind causes the turbine blades to rotate and turn DC motors, which generates electricity. The power travels to the ground through a conductive tether comprised of electrical wires, a spectra core and a sheath.

On the ground, the power can be used for charging batteries or running a grid tie inverter. This system is auto stable in 10 to 25 mph winds and continually adjusts to changing wind conditions.

It is recommended to use the 2X lifter-sail in winds below 15 mph. It is also recommended to purchase the Personal Power Station duffel bag to hold 12 volt batteries for on location charging.

The Personal Power-sail operates well in wide open areas and has flight performance similar to traditional single line kite. If you can operate a traditional single line kite with a 180 foot tether, then the Personal Power-sail should work well, as long as the wind is strong enough, at least 10 mph.

The set up for this system takes 5 to 10 minutes and operation can last as long as the wind is blowing. It is recommended to consult a qualified electrician for help selecting and wiring inverters and charging controllers.
