The Vestas Sailrocket team are in Walvis Bay, Namibia this month, where they are trying to beat the outright world speed sailing record. This most hotly contended record is open to kitesurfers, windsurfers and yachts and currently stands at 51.36 knots. To keep up to date with the record attempt, follow science.TV's Twitter feed (@sciencetv). And if you're interested in the physics of the Sailrocket, sign up to science.TV. If they get enough requests, they've promised to do some material on the physics of kitesurfing, too.
